Sam Hinkie Resignation Letter
ESPN - For those who follow the NBA you're well aware of how the Philadelphia 76ers have been run for the past couple of years. While they are viewed as a dumpster fire by the majority of the NBA community, a select few (including myself) would consider them a "calculated dumpster fire". GM Sam Hinkie's approach to building a team known as "The Process" was littered with more draft picks than wins and 76ers ownership began to lose faith. That led them to hire Jerry Colangelo, who ultimately pushed Hinkie out the door. Hinkie resigned to 76ers ownership by writing a 13 page letter that reads more like a hedge fund manager's quarterly commentary than anything basketball related. It is one of the more odd yet fascinating and insightful things I've read in recent memory.
